Key Features

Turbo-Charged Versatility

We’ve poured decades of experience shaping performance snowboards into this all-mountain charger. The Thruster is built on the lightest core in the Nidecker line, with a powerful camber profile and a super dense sintered base that minimises drag. From early morning corduroy to blower pow, it's a versatile speed machine featuring 3D design in the nose for super smooth edge changes. Added carbon dampens the ride even at terminal velocity.
  • SideKick technology lifts the Thruster's edges at the widest point of the nose for increased float in powder, smoother riding in rough terrain and effortless turn initiation.
  • The Thruster features our lightning quick N-9000 sintered base, made from super dense material with a high carbon content to minimise friction. Wax it regularly for race-level performance.
  • Full camber spring-loads the board from tip to tail, helping the whole edge maintain contact with the snow and boosting response.

Tech Details

  • Construction

    Premium Sandwich

A step up from our standard sandwich construction that adds carbon stringers for more pop, quicker edge response and improved shock absorption.

  • Topsheet

    Absorbnid

An innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. Enjoy a smooth ride with less fatigue.

  • Inserts

    4x2/6

6 rows of inserts at 2 cm intervals gives you maximum choice of stance width and works with any binding on the market.

  • Fiberglass

    Triax Plus

Fiberglass is woven in three directions at 45° for max stiffness. The result of extensive testing, Triax Plus uses different glass densities above and below the core to deliver more consistent torsional flex, better pop, and lightning response.

  • Core

    Light Core

An ultra lightweight core based on a lively combination of poplar and paulownia. Hardwood beech stringers down the centre enhance the overall strength and boost pop.

  • Base

    N-9000 Sintered

A lightning quick sintered base made from super dense material with a high carbon content to minimise friction. Wax it on the regs for race-level performance.

  • Added Carbon

    Pop Carbon

Carbon fiber is positioned between the inserts and the nose and tail – boosting ollie power and dampening chatter.

  • 3D Shaping

    SideKick

SideKick lifts your edges at the widest points of the nose and tail resulting in increased float in powder, smoother riding in rough terrain and effortless turn initiation.

Extras

  • Diecut Base

Pure-color base materials pieced together like a jigsaw for bold, crisp graphics.

  • Matte Finish

A tacticle topsheet graphic that feels as good as it looks.

Man, what an amazing carving machine! First day

Man, what an amazing carving machine! First day on the board and after setting up the new binding all the way we just ripped speed carving laps. What a wonderful board, what a wonderful day.

Rides great, but scratches easily

It rides great on groomers and in powder and looked awesome when it was new. Sadly, even light contact messes up the topsheet graphics. After just one lift line, it already looked worse than most rental boards.

Hey Peter!
Thank you for your feedback on the Thruster. We're glad to hear that it rides great and looks awesome when new. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the topsheet scratching easily. We'll pass this information along to our team for future improvements. We appreciate your support and hope you continue to enjoy the Thruster's performance on the slopes!

No complaints

Great board for East coast icy / hardpack conditions, sintered base offers excellent glide. The edges hold well when carving, and its stiffness lends well to ollies.

Great board, terrible topsheet construction

I have been riding for 35 years and consider myself an expert. Bought my first nidecker last year, thruster, and love it. Charges and carves great, really responsive. But the top sheets are absolute junk and chip and peel back way too easy. Did a lil nose press on my 2nd day of owning this board and got a big death chip on my nose which is crazy from doing a nose press on a groomed run

My experience with Thruster

I used Thruster for one season and I can tell its been among the best board experiences. It is light and forgiving but still precise when carving. I have used it in knee deep powder as well as rock solid groomers and it has not disappointed me:+1:

Too wide

Hi I havent opened the board , I think its going to be too wide for my size 9.
So Im hoping to replace it with the megalight ?

Epic Riding in All Mountain!

This board is insane! The shape, the stiffness and control.
1. POWDER DAYS, Amazeballs. I floated beautifully.
2. Groomers, carves with extreme precision.
3. Park, did not disappoint
4. Just an absolute menace for free riding and speed.

Could not recommend a more perfect board.

Nidecker Thruster Review (Post Riding)

This board absolutely shreds. I just took a trip out to Vail for two days, Breckenridge, and Keystone, this board was amazing and is taking me to the next level. As advertised, this board can rip the groomers, float in some power, or just your casual cruising. I haven't ventured into the park yet so I can't speak on it there, but overall I am extremely satisfied. Paired with Nidecker Supermatic bindings (which are pretty legit too). I'd recommend to anyone looking to get to the next level from intermediate to advanced, and if you're advanced already.. well then have fun ripping it on this board!

This board wants to go fast!

I've only been out on it a couple of times so far but I can tell I'm going to enjoy this thing! It wants to be aggressive and it wants to go fast! It's got a great feel to it, really light and easy to maneuver but also feels very stable and difficult to get thrown off its line. I notice hardly any chatter going over the crud too, which is important for New England riding! Not enough snow to go into the glades yet but I think it will be fun no matter where I take it. I was warned that it isn't a board you want to let yourself get lazy on and I would agree with that. The only time it hasn't been good for me is when I've been too upright and too far back with my weight. It's a great all-mountain board but I think it really shines carving hard and fast!

Thruster made my day

Very responsive and predictable snowboard. Here we are carving on packed/icy surface most of the time. The board just handles the terrain perfectly even when I push it to the max. Very happy

First Nidecker Board

I initially got wind of the Thruster series from Jonathan Buckhouse (youtuber). I needed a board for my quiver that would allow me to go deeper and steeper - the Thruster has filled that need for me. Hard charging, stiff, yet a forgiving board that is fun to ride all mountain. I demoed this board at Loveland, CO Demo Days in November '23 - out of all the equipment I tested, Nidecker won me over pretty easily. Also, the Nidecker rep, Greg, that helped me get set up, was super knowledgeable about the products and just a good dude to chat with all things snowboarding. That representation was part of the brand buy in for me - Greg was awesome. This is my first foray into Nidecker and likely won't be my last.
