I',m an old guy (55) with a hip problem and lost my reach years ago to unclip in my old bindings. I bought these to try and get back on the mountain. Now, using a push stick, I can unclip my rear foot and simply step back in at the top. These bindings have brought me back!
The quality of the binding and the step-in mechanism is top-notch. Everything is tight and stable when locked and the bindings are responsive edge-to-edge for my style of riding (which is coming back quickly, even with my hip problems). I don't find the extra weight to be a problem because I used hard boots and plate for a long time. The universal plates are nice with a +/- setup to adjust for too-heel overlap.
The straps can be adjusted on the fly for tension and and fit and you can release them like conventional bindings anytime. Everything remains secure and solid after a few days of riding.
The step-in feature really is spectacular. They work with your existing boots, and the strap+highback feel is what I like and I'm used too. Other systems rely on connections to the boot sole (and they have good reviews) but I prefer the feel of a conventional strap+highback where you don't have to fit the boot tightly on your foot. And I didn't have to replace my boots, so.....
Stepping-in directly off the chairlift is really cool and makes everyone jealous. I wish there was a cable release I could reach, but my pushstick is OK for now. (I may 3Dprint parts and build a cable release after I get a few more days in).
Fantastic product.
