Must have for first board!

I picked up the Nidecker Play 156 after a few lessons on a second-hand board, and it’s been a clear upgrade. It’s lightweight, flexible, and very forgiving, which makes it ideal for building confidence as a beginner. The soft flex helps absorb mistakes and keeps the ride smooth, especially while working on basic turns and edge control.

I’ve paired it with the OG Supermatic bindings, which has made a big difference on the Scottish slopes. With shorter runs, not having to constantly rebind means less downtime and far less fatigue, so I can focus on riding rather than strapping in. The board feels easy to control and predictable in a variety of conditions.

Overall, the Nidecker Play is an excellent choice for novice snowboarders. It does exactly what a beginner board should do and will comfortably see me through the next year or so before stepping up to something more advanced like the Merc or Escape as my riding progresses.

Very fun and smooth ride

Very fun and smooth ride. At first I was going to request a refund. Instead I decided I will try the board and see what its like. Thats has been one of the best decisions I have made. This board is very good for a beginner or someone getting back into boarding after taking a long hiatus.

The Nidecker play is the best board I�ve ever ridden, I�m kinda split beginner/ intermediate
Doing mostly blue runs at this time, but am very new to snowboarding, the Nidecker play is been an absolute gem to me, great on the slopes and light weight it�s not to difficult to carry to and from the car, even after a long shredding sesh

Super snowboard for riding and snow-kite. Just the quality of the base could be better. waxed the day before. After 60km the base is white.

Great beginner board

This is my first season: I've been out a few times and this board rides smooth. It feels the same when riding switch out regular. The board is also forgiving in terms of catching edges,(not saying that you can't) however it helps to resist catching an edge. Additionally, any slight variation in your weight and the board does most of the work for you. I am very excited in continuing to learn and practice. Would 100% recommend for a beginner's board. Super soft and user friendly.

Perfect Beginner board or teaching board for instructors

I'm a full cert snowboard instructor and love it. It's so easy to teach on it and you can even go quite hard on it.
It doesn't really like speed which is okay for a beginner board.
It even holds an edge for carving turns, did a few eurocarves on it.
