The Kaon-CX features precision-milled aluminium Axion-Ratchets that boast a buttery-smooth action and unbeatable strength to weight. A full length EVA footbed with 2-degrees of canting effectively dampens vibrations and works more efficiently with your riding stance. Experienced, powerful shredders will not find more aggressive, featherweight control in a binding.

Skeptical but no longer!

Ok, I was a little skeptical to try these bindings because of the lack of size adjustments or hi-back rotation. I have 8.5US boot size and run +24/+12 angles so rotating the hi-back is usually something I like however I have had zero problems with the Kaon-CX. They are one of the most comfortable bindings I've ever ridden. The Hybrid Exo-strap definitely increases the comfort here and while it's listed as a stiff binding it doesn't have the a stiff "squeeze" on your feet. I have Kaon-CX's (MD) on a Nidecker Ultralight 161L (250mm waist) and is a perfect match. As my foot size falls within the LG and MD size ranges I tried a large before dropping to medium. The toe of the LG slightly hung over the edge of the UL. The LG will be placed on my Thruster 159 due to its increased waist width. The feel of the Kaon-CX is so response and supportive without being restrictive. Amazing bindings! I've been riding Nidecker for many years now and will continue to ride their gear.

Good binding, weak toe strap

I've been on these about 20 days and love the weight, the responsiveness and the ratchets and stuff feel really smooth and solid. The strange looking heel strap is really comfortable once you tweak the adjustments to suit your foot/boot. I have the L which is perfect for my 9.5 UK boot (Kita). So, all was going so well...The toe strap is made of stretchy plastic mesh. It's effectively about 2mm thick. The first one broke and I thought oo, that's a weakness. Got a replacement after 1 month trying to get the replacement piece through a snowboard shop, then I noticed the other one is half cut through as well, literally about to break... This really needs rethought, even recalled and if I hear "Yeah but next year's model has improved that" one more time from a snowboard brand I am going to scream.. Please revise this toe strap, it's literally the weakest ones I've ever had and I've been riding since 1995 and done 20 seasons so I know what lasts and what doesn't. At this rate I will go through 10 toe straps per season, 50-60 in the life of a top-of-the-range binding like this.

Spoiler too narrow

I was like I can't wait to try these awesome bindings, but I did not be able to try them because the spoilet base is too narrow.
I can't use them without damaging them or my boots.
Even with a Flow/Nidecker Talon!
& I choose the right size!
So disappointed.

Excellente fixe avec un highback rigide et une r�ponse pour ceux qui aiment envoy� du lourd.... Seule b�mol, le strap en nid d'abeilles qui sur le coup du pied met une pression d�sagr�able surtout avec des boots d�j� us�es... Mais hormis �a super produit!!!

Not good enough for the price

Heel-cup is not possible to rotate or move forward. My boot 9.5 felt way too small in the L. I had to strap too strongly and it hurt. The main strap felt not in the right place (too forward).
The build and the responsiveness of the binding still is amazing. But better to try it before to buy it.
