Incredibly unconformable due to poor design location of the heel hold Boa laces, and have ONE YEAR for regular use the I am seeing major material wear in the inner ankle from rubbering against my bindings.
Brought this boot to my response boot for aggressive riding, as it is marketed as. But when I tighten it up to a level to which I get that instance engagement, the heel hold "flaps" (visible in the marketing photos) cut into my ankles and are restricting blood flow through my feet, causing me major foot pain (wt. custom foot beds).
This could have been avoided if:
One - The ankle hold flaps extended to the center of the boot, or were a sign continuous piece. That would better distribute the pressure and hold my heels down.
Two - I'm tightening the top Boa to a snug fit in order to get the shin engagement for fast entry into deep carves. Because the top Boa also controls the ankle flaps, they are being overly tighten compared to the rest of the boot. If the ankle flaps were controlled be the lower foot Boa, I would have less issues with the boot.
I've never owner a boot to cause me so much problems, and also show potential. I will be bringing these to a cobbler for modifications because there is the potential that these could be an excellent response boot. This is now the second time I've had problems with Nidecker gear and service.
